Condolences
It is Christmas Eve 2019 and I am happy to have just shared a conversation with a co-worker that remembers Bertha as well as I do. We used to work with Bertha in the Pensions Department at the City of Calgary.
My friend still has two little "doves", given to her by Bertha who displays them every Christmas, remembering the spirit in which they were given. To "lift her spirits" was the message. Bertha also shared one of these "doves" with me which was lost over the years of moving across the country...this, I truly regret.
Her spirit was and still is strong - she remains with me and I have wonderful memories of her kindness, gentle nature, the times we shared at work and while enjoying cross-country skiing. I think of her every time I eat an almond - her favorite lunchtime snack.
Dorothy, we only met a couple of times, but I want you to know I really enjoyed Bertha's company - no matter how many years we had between us. Thank you for posting such a beautiful photo of her. I hope you are well. I know you are missing her, but I hope you are well!
Best regards, Jeannette Morgan
Aunty Bertha is thought of very fondly and we are so sorry we are unable to make it to the funeral….our thoughts are with our wonderful family.
May she be in the best place of all now and in perfect health.
Love,
Audrey, Jason and Zetta
It is with tears, condolences and sympathy for all the family that I write, and specifically to you, Aunt Dorothy who spent all the time that you possibly could with Bertha while she was ill.
I have special fond memories of Aunt Bertha. She was such a warm, loving person. I will miss Aunt Bertha very much.
Lovingly, Karen
