Obituary of Elsie KERR

December 15, 1919 – November 18, 2011 Elsie Kerr (Nana) of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Southwood Hospice on Friday, November 18, 2011 at the age of 91 years. Elsie was born in North Shields, England where she resided until her marriage to Alec in 1942. Elsie and her family moved to Montreal, Canada in June of 1953 where they lived until 1983 when they moved to Calgary to be closer to their only daughter, Marion, and her family. Elsie is survived by her daughter Marion, son-in-law Richard, Granddaughters Paula (Jeff), Laura (Garth) and Great-grandchildren Josh, Ali and Meagan. Elsie was predeceased by her father, Richard, her mother Lilian, her younger sister, Lilian and her husband Alexander Stevenson Kerr. Elsie leaves behind her devoted partner of 22 years, Niels Gripping. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
