Obituary of Jessie CURRIE
June 22, 1926 – November 11, 2011
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jessie Currie following a lengthy illness.
Jessie was born in Cambuslang, Scotland and immigrated to Canada with her husband Jim and daughter Lena in March of 1951. Jessie worked for many years with the Royal Bank of Canada before her retirement. She was a wonderful woman, full of life and with such a bright spirit and will be dearly missed. Even during her illness she touched so many lives in a positive way. She is survived by her daughters, Lena Leyten and Karen Adams, her sons-in-law, Len Leyten and Tim Adams, her grandson Paul Leyten and his wife, Melissa, her granddaughter, Kelly Adams and her great-grandson, Shane Leyten. She is also survived by her sisters Ann Stirling in Scotland and Lena Warren in Winnipeg. She also leaves to mourn several nieces and a nephew. Jessie was predeceased by her husband Jim in 1992 and her sister Pearl in 2011
Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to Southwood Hospice, 211 Heritage Drive S.E., Calgary, AB T2H 1M9. The family wish to thank the wonderful staff at the Southwood Hospice for their dedicated and loving care during her stay with them.
