Obituary of Jeanne Jean Marie TAYLOR

August 23, 1927 – November 5, 2011 Jean Taylor loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the age of 84 years. Mom was born in St. Eustache, MB on August 23, 1927. She was one of thirteen children born to Edmond and Louise Laramee. Mom moved to Calgary in 1951 from St. Boniface, MB where she met and married our Dad Jack on November 22, 1952. Mom’s greatest passions in life were her family and her Christian faith! Mom lived well and laughed often. We all remember her wonderful smile and sense of humour and how she could just as easily turn a joke onto herself if she thought it would make someone laugh. Mom never had to work hard at relationships; they just came naturally to her. Her children, family and friends mattered more to her than anything. She cared about our lives and her relationship with each of us. She was always proud of her family and always celebrated each of our accomplishments. Momma Jean cared about all people and that showed in everything that she said and did. She was a great listener and was always pleased to lend a hand when needed. Mom’s compassion knew no boundaries as evidenced in the many Compassion children that she sponsors around the world. Jean is survived by Jack Taylor; daughters, Arlene Smith, Karen Taylor and Jacquelyn Taylor; son Kevin Taylor and his wife Bonnie; granddaughters Carlye Smith and Sara Smith; as well as her siblings, Maurice Laramee, Alice Bachman, Ella Laramee, Terry Novak, Joe Laramee, Noella Cancade and Leo Laramee; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her parents Edmond and Louise Laramee; and siblings, Irene Dame, Laurie Kalinsky, Simone Taylor, Paul Laramee and Andy Laramee. We would like to thank all the wonderful staff at the Chinook Hospice for their care, compassion and dignity with which Mom was shown during her last days.
