Obituary of Alana Dianne MARTIN

September 9, 1955 – October 30, 2011 “Dancing with the Stars, Flying with the Angels” It is with great sorrow that the family of Alana Martin announce her passing on Sunday, October 30, 2011. Alana was a wife, mother, grandmother, friend but most of all a person who touched many lives through her kindness and genuine caring. She was known for her deep respect of people and was a friend to many. Alana was not afraid to take risks and met life with open arms. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Alana fulfilled her life by being around her family. She loved camping, golfing, gardening and making wonderful meals with her husband. Alana travelled the world experiencing different cultures. She was compassionate, empathic, courageous and had an amazing sense of humour. Alana will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband Randy Martin with whom she was happily married to for twenty-nine years. Alana is survived by her son Dereck (Heather) who sports an amazing sense of humour, her daughter Lindsay who has inherited her mom’s sensitive spirit and her granddaughter Nikita with whom she had a very close and special bond, sisters Cheryll McInnes and Shannon (Ray)Knight, brother Rodney (Laurie) Oelrich. Alana was predeceased by her parents Effie and Albert Oelrich. A Celebration of Life will be held at Glen Eagles Golf and Country Club (100 GlenEagles Drive, Cochrane, AB), on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
