Dear David and Family,
So sorry to hear of Ernie’s passing.
He leaves a fine family. What a tribute that is to a life well lived.

We are sorry for your loss and Ernie’s passing. We just heard today from my Dad Harold, who also fought in the Italian campaign so long ago. Please accept our condolences.

Lydia, I was so sorry to learn of Ernie’s passing. I’ve enjoyed many talks with him over the years at the Military Museum and as an army friend. I and the Museum will miss him greatly.
Dear Lydia and family,
I wanted to let you know I have been thinking of you and your family in the last few days. Ernie was both a friend and mentor to me. He was always “straight forward” and was never afraid to state what he thought. We will all miss him.

Dear Lydia and family
I feel very privileged to have had the honour to know Ernie, he was an amazing man. He touched so many lives, young and old. Ernie will be missed. My prayers are with you and your family at this time and always. We will make an extra donation in his name to the War Vet’s Poppy Fund and Food Bank.
Dear Lydia and family:
I am so sorry for your loss. You and Ernie were so good to my mom (Florence Lawrence) and she appreciated the time spent with you. May your memories comfort you in these days of sorrow.
Sincerely,
Bernice Legge
Nothing I write about Ernie seems to be enough to describe such an amazing human being.
He had compassion for everyone he encountered. He gave of his time to so many causes, and never asked for anything in return. His gift of time has changed so many people: parishoners at St. Barnabas, youth at the schools he gave his time to, teachers at those same schools, those who went through the military museums and more.
He will be truly missed.
My condolences to Lydia and the rest of Ernie’s family.
