Condolences
Our deepest sympathy. Ella was our good friend and a good neighbour.
Ella has been a loyal friend to me since December 2003. That was when I first met her at St James Church Calgary. Ever since I met her she has been inquiring after
my health & welfare. When I broke my wrist in Dec 2004, Ella was very helpful to me driving me around to buy groceries & such. I missed her at 5 pm mass since her surgery a couple of years ago, and will miss her dearly now that she has departed from all us. My Prayers with you dear Ella. May God Grant You Eternal Rest! My deepest sympathies to her sons & other family members.

I cannot remember a time when Ella was not a part of our family. Thinking of her I realize how much magic and joy she brought into our lives. I grew up believing that the term was “ella-gant” and had originated with her! She was a gracious, faithful and gentle person and we were all blessed to have her in our midst. Every time I think of her I will smile – she calmed and fascinated that tomboyish little kid from next door with wonderful things like sheepskin, shortbread, coloured sugar, barrels of monkeys, mysterious treasures called “knick knacks”, and candle-powered mobiles that move and sing all by themselves! She made every occasion a little extra special, from church to neighbourhood to backyard. The very best treats at Christmas, candied fruit and chocolate seashells; the simplest but most beautiful and heartfelt cards on every occasion, always signed with love…running over to get the newspaper often resulted in spontaneous invitations to tea…everything got a little extra special when Ella got involved. Everyone should be so lucky as to know someone with real grace, an appreciation for simple beauty and patience with clumsy, dusty neighbour children. God Bless you, Ella, we will miss you.
