Obituary of Ella Marie NOONAN

August 26, 1925 – October 7, 2011 Ella Noonan beloved mother of Brian and Brent, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 7, 2011 at the age of 86 years. Ella was born in a farmhouse in rural New Brunswick. In her mid twenties, she met the love of her life Edward, a decorated war veteran, and career military man. In 1950 they were married in Regina, Saskatchewan. Edward and Ella travelled across Canada and Europe with the Canadian Armed Forces, raising two boys along the way. The family eventually made its way to Calgary in 1969. Edward retired from the military in 1977 and passed away suddenly in 1978. Ella maintained her career as an administrative assistant at CFB Calgary, retiring in 1990 at the age of 65. She was very active in various capacities at St. James Catholic Parish, and will be missed by all. Ella is survived by her sons Brian (Janice) and Brent (Mari), two grandchildren Kyle and Amy, as well as her brother Lange Arseneau (Elise), sister Lucienne Boudreau (Ernest) and numerous nieces and nephews. Ella was predeceased by her loving husband Edward, mother Emina, father Lange; sisters Bella Vautier (Finton), Lauza Thompson (Bill), Bernadette Sweeney (Ernest), and brother Roy Arseneau (Frances). Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. James’ Catholic Church (5504 – 20th Street S.W.) on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James’ Catholic Church (5504 – 20th Street S.W.) on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
