Condolences
Dear Jean,
I have not been a part of the St. David’s community for a couple of years, and was unaware of Dick’s illness or passing. I wrote an e-mail to him this morning and was shocked when I searched his name to find the obituary. He was a good friend and a very positive force in my life. I had done some film work and saw first hand the effect of his leadership and caring. You were a very fortunate woman when you said “yes” to his life-changing question 55 years ago. My condolences to your and your family.
My condolences to your family. My apologies for asking, but my mother of 77 years (June Raibl) has also just , passed away and we’re trying to locate friends of hers, a mister and mrs. Jim and Jean Thomas that live(d) in Calgary. Previously the Thomases we’ looking for lived in Moose Jaw. My father Ed was a very good friend of Jim’s. Unfortunately my Dad passed many years ago.
If this is the same family, we’d love to hear from you. Daryl Raibl, in Vancouver
Dear Jean and family:
Thinking of you at this difficult time. I was always thankful for Dick’s faithful support of the Canadian Club of Calgary during my tenure as president.
You have been blessed with a loving husband, father and friend.
I will not be able to attend Thursday’s celebration – sorry.
