Obituary of Ruth Beatrice NICKERSON-ESSON

October 2, 2011 With profound sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear beautiful Mom, Ruth Beatrice Nickerson-Esson on Sunday, October 2, 2011. She was a successful business woman with a strong work ethic who was loved by all who met her. We will dearly miss her kind, sunny disposition, warm smile and treasure our memories of family dinners, singing in the car on Sunday drives and summers at Shuswap. “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.” Ruth is survived by her three daughters, Janice Schmietenknop (Carl), Sue Danard (Don) and Terri Burris (Gord); twelve grandchildren, Carolyn, Craig, David, Nicholas, Andrew, Jason, Bryan, Erin, Chad, Christie, Jeff and Sarah; seven great-grandchildren, Ethan, Sophia, Thomas, Tahlia, Wyatt, Warner and Elliot; brother George; sister Sally; and numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends. She was predeceased by her husbands Ralph Nickerson and Red (Horace) Esson; her newborn baby Virginia; eldest daughter Laurie Hill; brother David; and sister Mary.
