Condolences
Linda and I were colleagues at Brebeuf for six years. She represented all the good things about being a teacher there. Her hugs, her wisdom, her generosity and sharing of teaching materials, her empathy, steadfastness, beauty, intelligence, sense of fun were what gave my day substance.
On a school ski trip Linda tried to teach me how to ski, but as I saw her glide so gracefully down the hill at COP I knew it would take me a very long time to achieve that finesse.
Last spring, by chance, Linda and I were shopping in the same furniture store. How beautiful she is, I thought to myself. We sat down together on a pink couch right there in the store and caught up on each other’s lives for more than an hour. I will always treasure our “serendipitous” meeting.
To her children, Rebecca, Sean, Jeunesse, though I only met you in passing when you were young, unbeknownst to you, I knew you well. I even knew what you were getting for Christmas before you did! I loved hearing about you from Linda during our many chats together over the years. Such a devoted mother, she adored and treasured each of you so much.
God’s earth has lost a beautiful person.
Immensely sad to hear that one of my favourite teachers passed away.
Mrs. White really helped me to get to know Canada after I immigrated here in the 1990s. She was my Grade 7 home room teacher and my English teacher for a couple of years, and I have always appreciated the extra time and effort that she took to help me along when I needed it most. Without her help at a crucial time, I wonder if I could have ever reached a truly native-level English proficiency, pursued a degree in the social sciences or worked as a journalist.
As sad as I was to hear about her loss, I only caught a small glimpse of what a wonderful, caring, considerate and cheerful person she was. I cannot imagine the grief felt by her loved ones and family… My thoughts are with you…

I had the pleasure of having Linda White as a teacher in Junior High School. I will always remember her treating every student as equals and coming into class with a big smile on her face each and every single day. I ran into her several times over the years and she still had that big smile on her face and was always such a positive person to talk to. My deepest condolences to the family on your loss.
Sorry for the lost of such a great person!
I met with Linda first time in a kindergarden event that one of my sons was attending with her son Sean.
After that day we became friends, My sons Diego, Agustin & Byron were her students and we all loved her.
I’m in Brazil at the moment with my husband Peter and I just want to tell the family that we are thinking of them.
All the very best to all of you during this hard moment.
Love
Sylvia Nora B.
Many years ago, likely about 30 or so, I had the good fortune of working with Linda for one year. Her true beauty inside and out has made me think of her often in these in between years. I offer my sympathy to you her family for your great loss.

I’m very sad to hear the news of Mrs. White’s passing. She was an incredible teacher and I remember her fondly in English class. She helped me overcome my fear of public speaking and encouraged me in my love of writing. I will always remember her for her kindness and support. I had the pleasure of being taught English by Mrs. White during my junior high days. She was a wonderful teacher and kept our class laughing frequently. She will be greatly missed.
I have so many fun memories of Linda. She is one of the reasons I am a lover of walking to this day. After seeing her walk every day years ago, I started and continue to this day. I loved her laugh. It was contagious.
