Dear Grants family,
I’m sorry for the loss of Grant, he was such an amazing person. Even though i was only friends with him for 3 years I feel like I lost someone who was my brother. Grant was sweet, nice, smart, confident, and just plain amazing! His memory will live in our hearts forever he will never be forgotten.
Melanie, Jim, Ali and Family,
Randy and I are so sorry to about Grant’s passing. From hearing about his progress to hearing about his passing was a shock. Keep the great memories close to your hearts and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mel, Jim, and Ali…
It was nice seeing you again at Grant’s service on Friday and it is unfortunate that it was not under better circumstances. The service was beautiful and a tremendous tribute to Grant. He was obviously very well liked and well respected based on the number of people who came to show their respects.
I remember the day Grant was born 15 years ago when you and I were working together Jim. You were such a proud father at that time and I am sure you will remain to be forever.
Again, Alice and I wish to express our condolences to you and your entire family, and our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Alice & Kelvin
Jim, Melanie and Ali,
You are in our thoughts and our prayers. Our deepest sympathy’s go out to you and your family and to everyone else who knew and loved Grant. Please know that you have a community of friends who are here for you.
Our deepest sympathies. We have never met, but we live in the neighbourhood and, as we walked around with our son, watched your children grow. Our hearts are breaking for the 3 of you, we can`t imagine how difficult this has been. We think of you every day we walk past and wish you continued strength to get through this darkest of times and we are thankful Grant has found peace. We hope you will as well.
Our hearts break for you and in time we pray that you will find peace. Cancer took our 15 year old son and brother just 6 months ago…sometimes nothing makes any sense. Jessie got to know Grant at Camp Kindle this past August and said he had the best time ever. She’s hoping to meet Ali at Teen Camp.
Please email if you would like to, at any time.
Our prayers are with you all.
XO
I did not have the pleasure of knowing your son, but I know parents of friends of Grant! As a parent and as a mother my heart BREAKS for ALL of you! I hope you can find peace in the fact that he was LOVED and loved back! I hope and pray that memories that make you smile, take away the loss that makes you cry! There are THOUSANDS of us hugging you right now BECAUSE of Grant! And in those hugs he is there with you, in every hug, every tear, every memory! GOD BLESS you all through this awful time!
I am so sorry for the loss of your amazing, wonderful son/brother. He will never be forgotten and will live in the hearts of many. Our village is missing a link…

Grant…gentle, pure, honest, loving, funny, strong, silent, bright light, witty, sensitive, amazing brother, devoted son, loyal friend, non judgemental, kind heart, handsome, accepting and peaceful. There are children that you meet in this world, even for a moment, that leave a lasting impression on you. From the moment I met Grant, that handsome young boy in third grade who asked a nervous room mom how her day was going and offered her a seat, I thought wow you have amazing parents and wow you are one amazing boy…I was right! Melanie, Jim, Ali and beloved Grant, getting to know all of you has been a blessing in our lives. You are a beautiful, caring family. There are people who will live a lifetime and never feel the love and joy that you all have for each other. Dear friends how we hope and pray that the love of friends and family will help you find peace. We love you very much and will be here for you now and always.
Grant was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. The Skalk family is truly blessed to have been able to spend those amazing 15 years with him. His story has deeply inspired both me and every other person who knew Grant. I know that Ali, Melanie and Jim are incredibly strong people, and I dedicate every ounce of my love to them in these incredibly dark times. Rest in Peace, Grant. I pray for you and your family every night.
-Simone, Justine, Ross and Michelle Cherry-Delisle
