Obituary of Blaine Robert MCINTYRE

August 13, 1962 – Edmonton, Alberta September 2, 2017 – Cochrane, Alberta The family of Blaine McIntyre sadly share his passing with family and friends. Blaine was a man who was immensely proud his daughters. He enjoyed the outdoors: skiing, fishing & golfing. He loved lively conversation, debates & the challenges his career provided. Blaine was well liked and was quick with his humour. His humour and roasts ought to have gotten him into to trouble, but instead it was one of his most endearing qualities. He was famous for his puns and “Dad Jokes”, so much so, that they have become integrated into the family’s vocabulary. Born August 1962 in Edmonton, Alberta, Blaine was the youngest of five children to Dennis Jerry McIntyre of Sundre, Alberta and Vonda Mildred Bernice Hunter of Elphinstone, Manitoba. Blaine & his family had many good memories of their little house on 66th Street but found they equally enjoyed acreage life when his parents made the move to Fort Saskatchewan area. Blaine attended & graduated from Fort Saskatchewan High School where he played Football and was a member of the Drama Club. It was here, he met his “forever girl”, Jocelyn Brett. They married in 1982, had three daughters who were all born in Fort Saskatchewan. Following in his father’s footsteps, Blaine became a journeyman pipefitter and later, received an Engineering degree from the University of Alberta. As a Chemical Engineer, Blaine began his career with Dow Chemicals in Fort Saskatchewan, AB and made his way to Cochrane, AB working for companies as AspenTech, Matrikon, Hovensa (St Croix, USVI) and CNRL. Blaine passed on September 2, 2017 in Cochrane, Alberta and left to carry on his legacy with grateful hearts, are his daughters; Katie McIntyre of Edmonton, AB, Robin McIntyre with son in law, Stephen Chapin of Calgary, AB, Hannah McIntyre of Cochrane, AB and his high school sweetheart and wife, Jocelyn Brett McIntyre. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his sister Arlene (James) Wilde of Carstairs, AB, Brothers, Wayne (Lorraine) McIntyre of Faust, AB. and Murray McIntyre of Vancouver, BC. and by numerous nephews, nieces, the Brett in-laws from Cochrane and Fort Saskatchewan, AB and friends from every corner of the world.
