Obituary of MACNEIL – John Edward
July 12, 1960 – September 9, 2011
John “Johnny” MacNeil passed away tragically in Calgary on Friday, September 9, 2011 at the age of 51.
Johnny was born in Werl, Germany and grew up in New Brunswick and moved West, but he always kept a part of his heart in NB. Johnny enjoyed bikes, karate, swords, playing chess and darts.
Johnny is survived by his mother Catherine (Kay) MacNeil (nee Donovan) and her partner Art Tompkins, sons J.J. MacNeil, Addison and Zane; granddaughter Danica; sisters Cathy Swift (Kerry) and their children Adam (and son Harley) and Dean of Calgary, Darlene Gorman (Mike) and their children Josh, Paris and Ajsha of Kelowna, Krista Hobday (Larry) and their children Darien and Drew of Victoria; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in the Maritimes and across the country, and many dear friends in Calgary. Johnny was predeceased by his father John (Jack) MacNeil in 1984.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
