I was both shocked and saddened to see your mother’s obituary in the Calgary Herald this week. I’m sorry that I was unable to attend the service at Red Deer Lake Church today.
As you may remember I first met your mother at the Abbotsford United Church. She was a good friend to my mother when she joined that congregation and she and I connected many times when I went out there to visit my mother and step-father. She was always so warm and interesting to talk to.
When we accidentally connected the day I was moving things out of my mother-in-laws apartment in the Lake Bonavista Village, I promised her that I’d come back to see her. We did manage to have one very nice visit last Fall. I’m sorry that I did not get back for more.
As you well know, your mother was a very special lady. I can well understand how you will all miss her terribly. My thoughts are with you. May her wonderful soul rest in peace.

I was so sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing. I am a member of the Sushine Unit in the church in Abbotsford, as she was for many years. We all missed her when she moved to Calgary and I will no longer see her on Facebook. Most Sincerely, Olive.
May you find comfort in knowing your Mom is home with the Lord. Our prayers are with you Ravi and Darlene.
Dear Dirk and Family,

Kamalini was very dear to my heart and I am so sorry for your loss. I met her in the Abbotsford Quilters Guild, and through the Eastern Star where my Mom was a member. Please can a member of the family contact me with an address, as we honor our members who have passed away .

Kamalini and Mayson were our friends, mentors and family when we first came to Lloydminster. We shared our lives with them, our son’s first birthdays, first steps, trips to Seattle in the little camper, drive in movies… and cooking… oh my gosh the cooking!!!
We were fellow foodies; fellow bridge players, loved cards with both of them and shared many laughs. Raffath and Mayson were in the Lodge together; their roots in Southern India united them so completely.
In Lloydminster and Abbotsford- we shared times together and loved each time of being with each other.
We cannot believe that Kamalini is gone. She leaves a void in our hearts but lots and lots of memories in our minds.
We will miss you, our dear friend.
Rest in peace.
Kalpana, Arun and Ravi- and the whole family; our deep condolences at your loss. God give you the strength to bear your loss and to celebrate your Mother’s life.
Our love to you all.
On behalf of our Fraser Valley Chapter of the Superannuated Teachers of Saskatchewan I wish to extend condolences to Kamalini’s family. At our chapter meeting today we talked about Kamalini’s devotion to our organization and her jovial personality. We missed her when she moved to Calgary and we are now saddened to hear of her passing. Arlene Burtniak, Sec.-Treas.

Ravi, Darlene and family. I was so saddened to hear of Kamalinis passing. The few times we met I remember the beautiful sparkle in her eyes and was looking forward to getting to know her better. May the beautniful memories you have be a comfort. I will be in Regina Friday with my Mom, but will be thinking of you. Namaste Cindy
I recall the wonderful “pepper water curry” your Mum used to make. Ah the dinners, fun and laughter in Lloyd with all of you. She was always so vibrant and full of life. It was just 4 months ago she was at Mum’s funeral – and sharing so many stories. Both her and your Dad (and Ravi, Arun and Kalps) will always be in my heart when I recall those first days in Canada. I am sorry that Hamish and I will be out of the country for your Mum’s Celebration of Life. But you will all be in our hearts and we shed some tears, laugh a lot and rejoice with you as we celebrate a gracious, loving and independent woman. Now both our Mums and Dads are watching over all of us. Love to all of you. fif
