I’m so sad to hear of Dave’s passing -he and Dad loved to trade jokes and stories, and it seems like only yesterday we were all laughing on the golf course.

Marge and Family,

Words alone cannot express the sentiment that we hold for you. Dave was a true character with his wit, smile and twinkle in his eye. Even though Dave has left this earth, he can still be seen. On a clear night look up into the heavens. The star that is twinkling the most is Dave smiling on us and saying “I miss you all but I like it here and I am going to teach St. Peter a thing or two about fishing.”

Dave’s smiling face was one of the faces I looked forward to seeing every year at Camp Tuffit. His smile always made me smile and his hugs always made me feel like one of his own. I shall miss him greatly. My thoughts, my heart, and my prayers are with you all. Love you and miss you.

I fell on this obit. totally by accident! (My best friend in Calgary died in Feb. so was looking at his)

When I was 16 (1961) (student summer job) I worked for Canadian Western Natural Gas in the (what we called then) Computer /Data Processing Dept. That whole room we had then would fit into 1/2 a 2 gig MP3 player now!

Anyway I am sure this is the Dave I knew and when I read all the things said about him, I am sure it is the same friend. I went on to College in the US and never returned much to see my friends at CWNG after.

I have thought about him lots over the years and what a fun guy he was and the center of a party or a coffee break or a conversation and what that meant to a kid in his first real job!

He taught me lots back then to do with data processing and work but also our conversations were always about life and fun and people. His outgoing positive happy outlook will always be part of my state of consciousness and has been passed on by me to my kids and the world in general. Just wanted you to know I recognized him and have thought of him many times through my life.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss.

I (Ken) knew Dave for 40 plus years and liked him immediately for his quick wit, humorous stories and positive attitude. That quality remained throughout our friendship and will certainly be missed.

In retirement we shared more fun times getting to know you both, bowling with Dave, our golf outings with Dave and yourself and Dave and our fun bus trips to Nevada and Medicine Hat.

We will all miss Dave but feel blessed to have known him.

My condolences to the family of Dave. I remember him as a 19 year old who played goal for me when I ran the Allisters (later Lethbridge\Maple Leafs). When he moved to Calgary he played for the Okotoks Oilers who were our biggest competition. I liked Dave’s cheery nature way back then and it seems he carried that throughout his life.

Dave was a storyteller extraordinaire and I will remember him for his sense of humor, winning smile, positive outlook and encouragement. Dave was one of the good guys and it was my privilege to work with him early in my ATCO Career. Under his tutelage I had many opportunities and have always been appreciative of his support and direction.
