Obituary of David Alexander WATSON
April 16, 1938 – September 2, 2011
On Friday, September 2, 2011, Dave passed away peacefully with his immediate family at his side.
Dave was born and raised in Lethbridge, AB and moved to Calgary in 1958. He retired in 1993 after a thirty-five year career with Canadian Utilities. Between work, community and sports, Dave made many meaningful, lifelong friendships. Always the story teller, he will be remembered for his sense of humour as he was never stuck for a great joke or witty phrase. He also loved sports like hockey and golf and outdoor activities such as camping and hiking. Another joy of Dave’s was fishing and spending his summer holidays at Lake Mary Ronan, MT where he returned every year for the last thirty-five years. Dave especially treasured time spent with his family and he will always be in their hearts.
Dave is survived by his wife of fifty-years, Marge and their children, Dave (Lori), Linda, and Dan (Lisa), his five grandchildren, Janelle, Brett, Andrea, Ben, and John. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy (Jack); brother-in-law Jack (Maude); several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his step-grandson Brandon Bushey.
