Obituary of DISTURNAL – Richard Clifford

April 15, 1929 – August 23, 2011 Richard (Dick) Disturnal, husband of Catherine Ann Disturnal of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the age of 82 at Southwood Hospice. Dick was born in Sedgewick, AB. He studied geology at The University of Alberta. He moved to Calgary to start his career where he met and married his wife of 55 years. Dick was a practising geologist and successful entrepreneur in the Alberta oil patch for many years. His belief in the fundamental principles of honesty, hard work, property rights and the free enterprise system together with his exemplary personal lifestyle has deeply influenced his family and friends. Dick took up the sport of golf in his mid 50’s and pursued it with great passion. Through his business activities and his golfing he developed many important friendships. He has touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Besides his wife, he is also survived by his children Bruce (Tracey), Jean (Preston) and John (Jill), and by his grandchildren; Tara, Tait, Bryn, Bevin, Tess and Tory. He is also survived by his sister Mary Ogle and nephew Richard Ogle. He was predeceased by his brother Lynn.
