Dear Bruce, Doug, Sarah, Ethan, Zoe, Emma and Madeline, We are so sorry to hear of

your Dad and Grandpa’s passing. He was such a kind and wonderful man and we’re sure going to miss him, too. We wish you strength in the difficult days ahead. You’re in our thoughts and prayers.

We send our warmest love and blessings to Bruce and Doug, Sarah and children in the loss of their Dad and Grandpa. Uncle Herman is the last of my dad’s siblings—the last of his generation in the Luft family. We consider it a real privilege to be in Calgary at this time, to share , even in a very small way with Uncle Herman’s family in their sorrow. We pray that the God of all comfort will comfort each one of you. Uncle Herman was a warm personality and was very interested in his nieces and nephews–his brothers and sisters children. When I had a stroke–in 2010 he visited me a few times at the Foothills Hospital,driving and bringing his oxygen with him. I really appreciated every contact that Peter and I had with him. I have been very happy to have reconnected with him recently after so many years living out of province and out of country. He was a great e-mail friend while we were in China, and since moving to Calgary, he has had many helpful suggestions for us, which have made a difference. He was so proud of his family. He was a very caring man and had a wonderful way of showing it!

To the Luft Family. My condolences on the passing of Herman. I knew Herman & Evelyn when I represented them in the sale of Willow Park Green & the purchase of Midnapore. I enjoyed working with this very fine couple. I wish to express my sincere sympathy to all of you.
