ANGUS – William John
1924 – 2011
William Angus beloved husband of Ruth Angus of Calgary, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011 at the age of 87 years.
William was born in Donaghadee County Down, in Northern Ireland and immigrated to Canada at the age of three months. He grew up in Calgary and attended Western High School. In 1942 he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served on convoy duty until the end of the War in 1945. In 1948 William joined the Calgary Police Service and served until January 25, 1980.
William is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth Anna; sons, Dick (Elizabeth), Terry, Bill (Karen); grandchildren, Bob, Sean, Mike, Jason, Kerri, Graham and Barbra; twelve great grandchildren, and his sister Eleanor of Victoria, BC.
William was predeceased by his brother Thomas of Victoria, BC.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS& HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
