Obituary of JENNINGS – William Roy

June 22, 1932 – July 7, 2011 William Roy Jennings passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, July 7th, 2011 in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 79. Roy was a loving husband to Amy, his wife of 56 years, father to Gary (Eileen), Lynn (Peter), Bill (Rhonda), and Karen, grandfather to Andrea (Shane), Shelley, Brandy (Steve), Brittany (Dave), Meagan, and Justin, great grandfather to Madyson, Steven, Taylor, Christopher, Aiden, and Will, and friend to many. A proud native Calgarian and true Hillhurst boy, Roy spent his early years at Standard Gravel working with his father, Reg, then moved on to manage the Chinook Shopping Centre. He was a past president of the Stampeder Football Club and was a die-hard sports fan. He loved life and was full of fun and managed to travel to Disneyland every year, one of his favourite places in the world. Funeral Services will be held at First Alliance Church www.faccalgary.com (12345 – 40th Street S.E.) on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Roy was a long time supporter of Heritage Park and in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the park. The family would like to thank Dr. Kneteman and the nurses and palliative care team at the U of A Hospital for their extraordinary kindness and compassion. Thanks also to Dr. Terry Groves for his friendship and constant care.
