Obituary of CARSTENS – Bente Brenda

April 5, 1952 – July 1, 2011 Brenda Carstens beloved wife of Roy Carstens of Calgary, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 at the age of 59 years. Brenda was born in Denmark and immigrated to Canada when she was a young girl. The family moved across Canada, settling in Medicine Hat. She met Roy in Edmonton and they were married October 4, 1975. Brenda was an avid volunteer within the Lutheran Church, Scouts Canada, from which she recently received the Silver Acorn award and the North East Calgary Adopt a Family Society as well as several other organizations. Brenda is survived by her loving husband Roy, one daughter Theresa and Mark Tomte, two sons Byron and Crystal Carstens, Thomas Carstens and Jolene Lutyck, two grandsons Jaydan and Matthaus, her mother Lisse Bjerrisgaard, seven siblings as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Neils Bjerrisgaard.
