Obituary of WATSON – Robert Duncan
August 13, 1925 – May 16, 2011
Robert Watson, beloved husband of Maureen Watson of Cochrane, passed away on May 16, 2011 at the age of 85 years.
Robert was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and served in the British Merchant Navy and was part of the famous Murmansk convoys during the Second World War. Upon discharge he went to South America to work for a British company where he fell in love with Brazil. Arriving in a very youthful Calgary he and Maureen were married and he then used his energy and abilities to participate in many new initiatives and Calgary remained his home and his involvement with Brazil continued until he went into hospital. There were many organizations and causes he was involved with notably the South Calgary Rotary club, The Calgary Burns Club, The Hong Kong Calgary Business Association and founding Advertising Agency initiatives. They have five children: Tony and wife Peggy of Sydney, Clare Wallace of Calgary, Neil and wife Wanda of Calgary, Marian and husband Ian Busfield of Vernon, and Janet of Invermere. There are 10 grandchildren and now 2 great grandchildren. A very full and productive life.

A gathering of friends and associates to honour him and celebrate his time with us will be held on Saturday , May 21st at the Elbow Valley Residents Club, 100 Misty Morning Drive, Calgary ,take Glenmore Trail to Highway 8, turn south at the lights and follow Lott Creek Drive to west end of the lake.
