Obituary of JANEWSKI – Ellen Kristine

August 1, 1931 – May 7, 2011 Ellen Janewski passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the age of 79 years. Left to celebrate Ellen’s life are her children, Dennis (Cheryl), Murray (Kim), Dan (Christine), and Brenda (Lynn) McKenney; and her grandchildren, Shannon, Neal, Kevin, Cyndi (Kurt), Dale, Sarah, Simon, Robynn, Reanna, Vanessa, Travis, William and Connor. Ellen was predeceased by her husband Bill and her brother Harold. Ellen was born on August 1, 1931 in Calgary and was raised on the farm near Standard. She became a Nursing Aid and worked in Calgary as well as smaller towns in Alberta. Ellen married Bill in 1954 and raised their family of four children. The gift that Grandma brought to the world was her unconditional love where nobody was judged and was always welcomed into her home, even unannounced. Ellen never complained about anything and every single thing she did was for someone else. She will be remembered for her famous home baked buns, cookies and thick grilled cheese sandwiches. She was the greatest audience her family could ask for, whether it was sports, music or any other event. Anyone who knew Ellen was made to feel a part of her family.
