Obituary of McCORQUODALE – Elizabeth May

November 13, 1917 – May 5, 2011 Elizabeth McCorquodale beloved wife of Archie of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the age of 93 years. Elizabeth was born and raised near Saskatoon (Grandora, SK). She met her husband Archie in Saskatoon and they moved to Calgary in 1960. Here in Calgary Elizabeth was an active member at the YMCA where she learned to swim and became a member of the synchronized swim team. She also enjoyed to play badminton and golf and later in life took up ballroom dancing. Elizabeth loved music and played the organ and also enjoyed painting in water colours. Elizabeth volunteered her time with GASP (Group Against Smokers Pollution) and also with Meals on Wheels. Besides her loving husband of 70 years Archie, Elizabeth is survived by her son Brent; her sister and brother-in-law Irene and Rocky Kwamsoos; her two brothers and sister-in-law Stuart and Joyce Gilmour and Bernard Gilmour and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Garland in 1995. A Graveside Service will be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery (4TH STREET & 31ST AVENUE N.W.), on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. You may forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
