Obituary of LINDSAY – Charles Leroy

December 24, 1933 – April 20, 2011 We are sad to announce the passing of Charles L. Lindsay who passed on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the age of 77 years. Charlie was born December 24, 1933 in Winnipeg, MB, to Frank and Wynne Lindsay. He spent time between Sidney, BC, Calgary, and Mexico during his “semi” retirement years from the wholesale lumber business at McIveen Lumber. Charlie is survived by his daughter Sue of Bragg Creek, son Jeffrey of Calgary, granddaughter Georgia, his two brothers Robert and Donald, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and his wife Betty of Vancouver. He was predeceased by his two brothers Russell and Frank and his sister Carol. Charlie will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune to know him and have business dealings with him, whether it was lumber, antiques, thoroughbred racing, over the years. Many thanks to Missy-Jo and all the wonderful care givers at Home Instead who gave such comfort to Charlie and his family in his final days. Charlie Lindsay’s Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at The Southern Alberta Pioneer Memorial Hall (3625 – 4 Street S.W., Calgary) on Friday, May 13, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Come and spend the afternoon among all the people Charlie loved. There will be friends, family and business colleagues coming together to share stories and experiences of Charlie’s wonderful life. Please dress casual. Forward condolences through .
