Condolences
Ed and family,
My sincerest condolences on Joan’s passing – there are many great memories from days at Pleasant Heights and Wild Rose – I’m sure the closeness of the family and your friends and all those memories and your faith will sustain you as you grieve this loss – the funeral service was very meaningful and the large attendance was a tribute to the esteem everyone has for Joan and you. Blessings to you all.
We were so sorry to hear of Joan’s passing. Joan and Ed were part of our community of Cambrian Heights. Joan and I were at guide camp together as helpers and we sure enjoyed it. I remember her peeling pots of potatoes and other vegetables and being very good natured about it. Our children went to school with her children and were involved in Community events. Our deepest sympathy to Ed and family. Marilyn & Doug Slater

Hello I am very sorry if I do not have the right family Joan and Ed Powell
I was very sorry to read about your Mom’s passing…she had a very busy life and it sounds like that they both enjoyed traveling. But It brought back a lot of memories about Joan and Ed.
When Ed owned the drug store and soda fountain on 20th Avenue and 14th Street NW, my mother, Margaret Houston worked at the soda fountain. We lived on the corner of 14th street and 19th avenue which my dad Mac built and is now a brick building.
My name is Doreen (Houston) Williams and had a younger brother Bill (he passed away 3 years ago). I used to go to see Mom at the fountain to have a coke and she always put a little extra in…….. (I still am drinking coke but with a bit of rum in it.
Also Joan and Ed were at a lot of parties at our house – it would take me to long to look up some of those pictures of all of them dancing and have a great time.
I am 72 now and there are to many happenings that bring back memories of the area.
My deepest condolences to you all – I hope Ed is in decent health.
Doreen
