Condolences
Chris I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. My heartfelt smypathies are with you and your family. You’re in my prayers and thoughts.
An old friend, Sandy
Dear Harry & Chris: There was a special coincidence – -the day your father died I was having lunch with two of my three adult children who were home for a visit. Graham and Molly asked where I developed my habit of early morning exercise and the value of of keeping fit. You know the answer to that question! Those regular 6:00 a.m. morning runs at VPS; the fitness drills; $5.00 for the first finisher at the end of summer term mass start race across the cricket pitch; badminton and boxing. But when Graham (he now has a phys. ed degree and does some personal training) and Molly (dancer) asked more questions about my life schooling with Gene at the time at VPS I only now realized how he taught me to unobtrusively weave the fitness into regular life. Your Dad thoughtfully taught science and socials, and had the respect (and some awe) of all the VPS boys. Gene’s very occasional and well considered word or two of praise for somethng well done was worth much more than the $5.00 prize. And I recognize now that my children, Katy (runner), Molly and Graham, will share and carry on the legacy of your Dad.
With kindest and lasting memories,
Dirk
Chris & family – your dad was a loving character who even now brings a smile to my face even though it’s been a while since I cooked you and him a turkey. The world will be poorer without him. Minda, my condolences for the loss of your dear partner. May God watch over you and give you peace.
For Chris and his family. I am sorry to hear about the death of your dear father. Although I did not know Gene, I have known Chris for a number of years and know that you loved your Dad and we offer our sympathy to you and your family. Chris, you made him proud in these last years by leading a clean, spiritual life. Love from Garth and Carol
