Obituary of HARRIES – Gideon Matthew Fenton

The death is sadly announced of Gideon Matthew Fenton Harries, who died unexpectedly but peacefully at his home in Calgary on March 31st 2011. Gideon was born in Guildford, Surrey, England, on March 27th 1966, and moved with his family to Canada in 1978. He attended St. Mary’s School, Bishop Carroll School, the University of Calgary and Mount Royal College. His career took him from Calgary to Cambridge, England, and thence back to Calgary where he pursued his career with the Alberta Treasury Branch. He was the encapsulation of the gentle man. He was kind, loving, handsome and talented, and was beloved by all his family. He will be deeply missed by his parents, John and Angela, by his siblings, Ben, Francesca, Christian and Daniel, by his nephews and nieces, Camila, Sebastian, Isabella and Madeline, Esmé, Gabriel and Julien, Nicholas, Thomas, and Alexander, by his close extended family in the UK, and by his many friends and colleagues. He will be missed in a way that is beyond description.
