Obituary of OAKE – Bruce
August 22, 1985 – March 29, 2011
Tragically on March 29, Bruce Oake lost his battle with addiction at the tender age of 25.
He leaves to mourn his parents Anne and Scott; brother Darcy; grandparents Fran and Walt; and many other cherished family and friends.
Bruce was born on August 22, 1985. He was a precocious child with a lot to say. He was blessed with a wonderful sense of humour and had much potential. Bruce was a successful athlete and represented Manitoba in boxing at the Canada Games. He loved contemporary music, entering and winning his share of “Rap Battles”.
For the last five years Bruce fought valiantly against his addiction and sadly the addiction won.
The family thanks Simon House Foundation, a treatment and sober living facility for it’s assistance in Bruce’s struggle.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Bruce’s memory to Simon House, 5819 Bowness Road NW, Calgary, AB, T3B 0C5. There will be a private service. And then a memorial “shake down” to follow!
