Obituary of GRAHAM – Cecilia

November 2, 1926 – March 23, 2011 Cecilia Graham (Cec), beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully on March 23rd, 2011, at the age of 84 years and is lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Cec was born in Fort Macleod, AB, on November 2, 1926, and grew up in Lethbridge. After graduating high school, she moved to Calgary where she attended the Calgary General Hospital nursing program, graduating as a Registered Nurse. Shortly after that she began working at the Didsbury Hospital, where she met Mervin Graham. They were married November 8th, 1951 and raised six children. Merv’s job at Mobil Oil enabled the family to live in Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Alaska, and Norway, eventually retiring in Calgary in 1988, to be close to family. Cec enjoyed bowling, golfing, curling, cards, piano, and playing the stock market, as well as travelling with Merv. Her activities included being active in the Catholic Women’s League as a member of the Honour Guard, being involved with Oilwives, and volunteering with various charities including Meals on Wheels. Cec is survived by her loving husband Merv; children, Nora Curlett (Hal), Tim, Jud, Roberta Funk (Ken), Theresa McNish (Colin), and Christina Thompson (Allan); along with nineteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Cec was the eldest of four surviving siblings, Peter Pascal (Marion), Nadean Meyer (Martin), Kay Perkins, and Diane Hirsekorn (Rich); and numerous nieces and nephews. Cec was predeceased by her parents Peter and Devere Pascal; brother-in-law Jim Perkins (Kay); and daughter-in-law Linda Graham (Tim).
