Obituary of KOVACS – John Richard

August 22, 1951 – March 18, 2011 John Kovacs beloved husband of Susan Williams of Calgary, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011 at the age of 59 years. John graduated from U of C with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering in 1973 and went on to work in the oil and gas industry for thirty-seven years. He was a member of the CWLS, SPE, APPEGA and committee member of the CSUG. John received two Wildcatter Awards while working for Schlumberger of Canada and was named an honorary member of the CWLS in 2011. Besides his loving wife Susan, John is survived by his two sons Matthew and Jesse; his siblings, Jolane LaValley, Ken Kovacs and Don Kovacs. John was predeceased by his parents John and Jolane.
