Condolences
Dear Peter and Family,
Lyle and I received news of Peggy’s departure from this world and I am sorry not to be giving you our condolences in person. I am so sorry for your loss of such a remarkable presence in your lives. We will all miss her and will continue to think of Peggy and her enthusiasm for life – hiking, cycling and on the golf course.
With warm thoughts for all of you during this mournful time.
Peggy Weddell and Lyle Ford
Peter and Family
Kenzie and I were saddened to see Peggy’s obit in the Globe and Mail. We have been talking of the good times we had with the two of you – skiing and adventuring and that Peggy always had a spark to her that challeged and lifted our spirits. We want you to know that your sorrow is shared.
Don
Peter and Family: Please accept our deepest sympathies on the loss of Peggy. We were in the U.S. when the announcements and funeral occurred. Peggy was a wonderful colleague on the CBE School Board and under her leadership we accomplished a great deal and made a difference. We still remember fond times shared with Peggy, Peter and her friends. Paul and Velma Adams

Dearest Peter,
I read with sadness the notice in this morning’s Globe and Mail about Peggy. Since then I have read the wonderful article about her in the Calgary Herald. Peggy was one-of-a-kind. Her contribution to the City is well-documented but her love for you and the family is palpable.
I know that it has been a long and difficult road for you and so please accept my sincerest condolences. Although I am unable to attend the funeral today, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
With deepest condolences,
Michele D. McCarthy
McCarthy Law Professional Corporation,
Peter and family please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of Peggy. She was an inspiration to so many people and will be greatly missed.
Peter and family,
Our condolences on the loss of Peggy, one of the all time greats as Normie Kwong used to say. It was a pleasure working with her on the CODA board where her leadership, passion for the community and compassion for all was a constant. We always enjoyed talking/philosophizing about how to make Calgary a better place to live while comparing notes about family. She was a special woman, her passing a great loss. We will remember her always.
Jack & Lisa MacDonald
Our family extends condolences and deepest sympathy to your family on the loss of Peggy. She will live on in her children.
Dear Peter and the family,
We offer our sympathy and support in Peggy`s passing. Long time friends from the `50s and CODA, we have felt her presence right through the Olympics here, in Right to Play, and just being pals with the Valentines.
Love, Patrick and Elisabeth Duffy
Our family extends condolences with deepest sympathy. Our prayers are with your family. Frances Lecky and James Maxim

Dear Becky and Family,
I was so sad to hear how much you and your family has been through in the past few years. Please know that you are all in my thoughts. It is clear that your Mom’s superior qualities live on in you. I am sure that you are comforted by so many wonderful memories of her.
With much love,
Heather
Peter & Family,
I was saddened deeply on reading of Peggy’s passing and remember fondly her warm and welcoming spirit. Aside from her many accomplishments, she had good taste in dogs (Brady and Seamus were the fastest of friends)…oh, and in husbands too. Her contribution to life in Calgary was remarkable. Her passion for education made her a standout. I hope that you will accept my best thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
John

To the Valentine Family,
Our deepest sympathy and condolences are with you at this time.
I regret I did not have the opportunity to meet Margaret (I believe I would have called her Mrs. Valentine =). However, as a fellow educator, I feel confident in thinking she would have agreed wholeheartedly in the following, and I have no doubt this is how she lived her life:
“I challenge you to make your life like a masterpiece. I challenge you to join the ranks of those people who live what they teach, who walk their talk.” — Anthony Robbins
Peace, Prayers, and Blessings,
Erin and Shannon Lyons
Peter,
I have always respected the contributions you and Peggy have made to our province. Hope you are in good health.

Betty Wonnacott and Joan MacGougan
Please accept my deepest sympathy. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
It is with sadness and regret that I noted Peggy Valentine’s obituary in the Calgary Herald yesterday. Regret, because I should have made the effort over the last 45 years to contact her in some way and tell her how very much I appreciated her when she taught a science course at Western Canada way back in 1965. I know her primary teaching expertise was in Physical Education, but I note she also taught a couple other classes in various subjects.
She was that rare teacher you remember that made learning fun, that inspired you to learn, and made you want to succeed in her class so that you wouldn’t disappoint her. Mrs. Valentine will be remembered and honored for her many achievements in both her public and private life, but I will always remember her as a very special teacher.
Carol MacLean (nee Sutfin)
Condolences to Peter and Family…you are in my prayers

Dearest Peter
Sue and I are grateful for the part which Peggy played in our lives. The Valentine family has always been a special family for us over many years and Peggy was a special blessing. She was a light which is not extinguished but remains before us in our own journey.
She turned a world of selfless toil
To profit all in human coil
A woman gentle full of grace
Leaving all a noble trace
A trace of soul
Of light Divine
Forget her not
For she is Thine
We shall be together again.
I have a difficult day on Friday and will not be able to be with you at the funeral, but we will remember her and you Peter in a special way in our prayers tomorrow
With love and deepest sympathy.

Peter and Family,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences as you suffer the loss of your Wife, Mother and Grandmother. I had the honor of working with Peggy as we shared in our roles as Trustees for the children of Calgary. While we were on different Boards, Peggy was always ready to mentor and share her beliefs with an open and kind heart. Her legacy will live on through you and the work she did in the community. May you all be blessed with the strength to endure the days ahead.
Sincerely, Linda Blasetti

We were truly saddened by Peggy’s passing. Peggy was more than just a friend; she was an inspiration to us all.
Peggy’s contributions to the Community and to the City are evident. She dedicated her time, over the years, to the betterment of the education system, as a fundraiser, as a Champion of young people, and as a responsible manager of a legacy to the City through the Calgary Olympic Development Association.
Her passing will not only leave a void in our lives, but in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Peter, to you and your family, please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Peter + family,
How sad we were to hear of Peggy’s passing. We recognize how courageously Peggy lived the past year, and we mourn the exceptional loss of an outstanding woman in our family, and our city. On a very personal note, I would like to express what an incredible role model Peggy has been for myself, and our girls — a woman who has been actively involved in her community + her family — energetic, enthusiastic, brave, wise, composed, a dignified leader. She will be dearly missed by all who have known her. There are no words to express condolences to your immediate family — but please know that we hold you close to our hearts today. Peggy, you accomplished so much in your lifetime, and your spirit is already dearly missed.
Fondest Condolences,
Sue Anne, Stephen
