Obituary of GAY – Gary Robert PhD

February 20, 1939 – March 2, 2011 We celebrate the life and accomplishments of Gary Robert Gay who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the age of 72 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie, of fifty years, his daughters Michelle (Darryl) and Marni (Darrin), his lovingly cherished grandchildren, Brittany, Dallas, and Haley, his sister, Gail, and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Gary was a loving, supportive and devoted father and grandfather. Family and friends were deeply and dearly treasured. He was born in Melfort SK, grew up in Duchess AB, and completed his B. Ed and PhD at the University of Alberta. His passion was education and every aspect of his life was devoted to teaching and learning. His interests and roles throughout his lifetime were so diverse, all mastered with skill, humility, and dignity. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Cathedral (219 – 18th Avenue S.W.) on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a memorial presentation in the Parish Hall.
