Obituary of Fred Arthur CARTWRIGHT

July 3, 1937 – Russell, Manitoba March 18, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta Fred, beloved husband of Margaret Cartwright (nee Miller) of Calgary, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at the age of 81 years. Fred was born in Russell, Manitoba and spent most of his career with Shell (1960-1991) and continued work as a consultant until 2013. He enjoyed life – travel, golf and volunteering for the Calgary Grey Cup Committee and Calgary Exhibition & Stampede. For twenty-one years, Fred and Margaret spent winter months at their place at Apache Wells, Mesa, Arizona and enjoyed many trips during this time. Fred will be fondly remembered and missed by his wife of fifty-two years Margaret (nee Miller), nephew Gord Miller (Sarah), and their daughter Blair. As per Fred’s request, there will be no service. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of choice. We appreciate the help provided by the staff at Brentwood Care Centre and particularly Sandy who has always been there for us. A friend of Fred’s who passed left the following quote which Fred believes is quite appropriate: “Don’t cry for me because it’s over, smile because it happened”. In living memory of Fred Cartwright, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot, 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE N.W. CALGARY, AB, T3G 2T3, Telephone: 403-241-0044.
