Obituary of QUIGLEY –Brent

July 29, 1957 – February 20, 2011 Brent Quigley, beloved husband of Shawna Quigley and father to Meagan of Calgary, passed away on February 20, 2011 at the age of 53 years. Brent was born in Edmonton and was raised in Calgary. He graduated from U of C with B.Comm. degree. He successfully articled, and in 1983 received his Chartered Accountant Appellation. In 2005 Brent received his M.Ed degree. Brent’s twenty-seven year career as a CA included public and corporate accounting and also an instructor of accounting, MBA and other business courses at all of the post secondary colleges and universities in Calgary. In the last year, Brent has focused his time on his private accounting practice. In 1999 Brent and Shawna met and were married in Calgary, Meagan, the light of his life, was born in 2002. A man of great compassion and empathy, always having concern and love for family, friends and animals. Brent loved an audience, was the life of the party, was a great public speaker and loved sharing his thoughts and ideas with others. Brent was a very devoted husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Brent is survived by his loving wife Shawna, his daughter Meagan, his father Gordon Quigley, his brother and sister-in-law Dave and Harriet Quigley, a niece Sarah Quigley, a nephew Doug Quigley, Shawna’s sister Marilyn (Doug) Thompson, Shawna’s brother Dwane (Lynda) Hislop as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Shirley Quigley, Shawna’s parents Russel and Doris Hislop. THOMAS UNITED CHURCH 100 Hawkwood Boulevard N.W. on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
