Obituary of WILSON – John Robert

We announce the passing of John Robert Wilson on February 4, 2011, and celebrate his journey Home after his 10 year battle with cancer. John was born to Robert and Audrey Wilson on June 10, 1953 in Edmonton, Alberta. Ministry and teaching were John’s passion and life’s work. After pastoring in PEI for 8 years, John was a Professor and Academic Dean at Alberta Bible College for 25 years. John loved celebrating life. He was a friend, teacher, and mentor to many and had an impact on everyone he encountered. He was a man who in every way sought to serve the Lord. John will be greatly missed by his wife of 36 years, Becky, and daughters Anna, Katie, and Jennie. He is also dearly missed by sons in law Evan and Jordan, grandson Micah John, sister Margaret, brother in law Joe, nephew Geoffrey, and mother Audrey. John’s father Robert passed away in 2007. A Memorial Service will be held at Bow Valley Christian Church on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 1:00 pm.
