Obituary of SCHMALTZ – Gilbert Frederick

November 25, 1938 – January 24, 2011 Gil passed away suddenly on Monday, January 24, 2011 at the age of 72 years. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Edna; and their children, Dean, Rhonda (Shane) Free, and Scott (Noelle); and seven grandchildren, Kassandra, Meaghan, Charnelle, Garrick, Daylene, Sydney, and Kevin. Gil was born in Beiseker, Alberta and moved to Calgary where he began his life with Edna. Gil’s passion was curling and it brought him great joy over the years. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (Corner of 4th Street and Northmount Drive N.W.) on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Tributes will be given at 10:15 a.m. prior to Mass.
