Condolences
I was thinking of Jamie today. I worked with Jamie at Shell, we weren’t really close, just work associates but we shared some lunches and drinks and got to know each other, every time we would pass each other in the hallway, or on the elevator we would chat and share a laugh.
Jamie was a very kind soul, I miss those times and brief moments where we would chat.
We have the best of memories of Jamie as a child and, later as a teen at our house to spend time with our son. He was easy to love!
We grieve with you and pray for you,
Merv and Marg Reimer.
Just returned from vacation to this shocking news.
Jamie was my best friend in a group of great guys in University Heights. He was a gentle soul, and I have only fond memories of him.
We used to listen to Cam’s records endlessly after school and play air guitars before that was a thing. I remember that as we talked, if a sentence ever contained the word “walk”, Laddie’s ears would prick up and we’d laugh. We used to get sweaty playing hockey with a sponge rubber puck in his basement and thought we were quite the pair of Bobby Orrs. We had a passion for grass hockey with the gang and would head out moments after school until supper and back as soon as possible afterward. While we were competing we learned about life and friendship. They were great days. We had a secret “fort” in the garage trusses where we kept some chips and pop we’d bought with our own money, and thought it was the coolest exclusive club!
We talked about meeting girls, talking to girls, “going out” with girls etc. but were both reserved in real life.
The worst parts of my summers were when he went to Laclu, but it always sounded like a magical place when he got back.
I lost track of Jamie after High School and never met his family, but the part of his life that he shared with me will never be forgotten, and I consider precious. I’m sure he made a similar but more significant impact on Sandra, Kelsey and Julia.
I am greatly saddened for you, and will pray for the grace of God to comfort you during these difficult days.
Sharing your grief,
Vince
Hello,
I actually got an opportunity to work with Jamie a while ago as an intern and I enjoyed every minute working for him. Not only was he a good manager but he was a good man. He always talked about his family and I could tell that he was a very dedicated family man
I was very devastated when I heard the news. My heart sank and I am still in utter shock.
I can’t even begin to comprehend the pain his loved ones must be going through…. and all I can say to them is that I am praying for you guys.
My sincere condolences,
Haritha Devulapally
Jamie has left a wonderful legacy behind – consistently cheerful and upbeat, he has touched many people’s lives. I will remember him with great fondness as a colleague at Shell and from our sightings of each other in Fish Creek. My sincere condolences to the family.
Peter
I was shocked to hear of Jamie’s passing. Have a lot of great memories growing up in University Heights, playing hockey and little league baseball. Also getting introduced to heavy rock….Thinking of the family at this time…gone but never forgotten in the heart.

He was a genuinely nice person who always had a ready smile. My thoughts go out to his wife and daughters. I can only imagine the loss you must be feeling.

I cannot write in words how much Jamie will be missed. He was a wonderful person! I had the pleasure of knowing Jamie for my 10 years at Shell and just recently he joined my group so I got to know him a little more. He was always smiling, always happy. A true, genuine, caring person. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time. Tina Bragg, Shell Canada
We were all very saddened to hear of Jamie’s passing. He was a very caring and dedicated father, this was reflected in his involvement with his children. We greatly appriciate his contribution of time and service to South Fish Creek Basketball.
We send our most sincere condolences.
My condolences. My recollections of Jamie from those high school days were of a very kind guy. One of those rare, count-on-me kind. I am so sorry.

My thoughts and prayers are with Sandra, Kelsey, Julia and the Moorehouse and Groot families at this heavy time. I have fond remembrances growing up with Jamie, sharing times together playing football, hockey and sitting around talking. I am sorry that our paths eventually seperated, but I am sure that his smile, gentle nature, love and caring will continue through all that knew him. May God’s peace be with you today and in the days to come.

Our condolence to the Moorhouse family.
During a relatively short period of time , Jamie contributed much to the Propane Industry of Canada while participating as a Board Member of the Industry’s Emergency Response Corporation. Jamie was always committed, open minded and striving for the “best in class” while representing his employer, Shell Canada, in overseeing the services provided by the LPGERC.
On Behalf of the Board and Management of the LPGERC.

My parents lived in Dawson Creek (where I was born) at the same time as Jamie’s family lived in the area back in 1961. (Joan and W.G. (Nick) Nixon). I went to Jr. High and High School with Jamie. He had a perpetual smile on his face and was a guy that everyone loved to be around. Always the listener and ever the encourager! I can’t imagine the sense of loss that your family must feel right now. I trust God has a great room ready for him in heaven….
Mike and Marg: We express our most sincere condolences to you and your family, our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. These things are not supposed to happen, however we do not make the choices. Cherish the memories. Con & Esther.
Moorehouse and Groot families. I knew Jamie from elementary school through university. He was a super nice guy that was respected by everyone. He was always soft spoken and he was kind to all people. The world will miss his smile and gentle hand.
Sincerely,
Scott Fawcett
Sandra, I was stunned and saddened to see the notice in today’s Herald. I can only imagine how acutely you feel the ‘wrongness’ of losing Jamie in what should be the prime of his life.
My recollection of Jamie is of a profoundly decent guy who laughed easily and was always a pleasure to be around. The lightness of his spirit made the sometimes tense atmosphere of grad school that much easier to bear.
My thoughts are with you and your family.
Our thoughts are with you on your loss of Jamie. We have fond memories of Jamie growing up in University Heights.

My sincerest condolences to Jamie’s entire family. I remember fondly his friendship during our Junior and Senior High School years.

I remember Jaime fondly from the days of growing up in University Heights. He always had that great “aw shucks” deameanour about him and a ready smile whenever you saw him.
I had the privilige of coaching him in Soccer when he was young, and he always struck me as the nicest guy.
I fell out of touch with Jamie after his University years. However I have no doubt he felt the greatest love for his wife and his children. During these very tough times, I hope that they may feel his love still coming down from above. I am sure he would want them to take that love and to know that is always there for them.
My deepest condolences. The world was a better place with Men like Jamie Moorhouse.
Sandra, Kelsey and Julia – We are so sorry to hear of Jamie’s passing. What a wonderful person Jamie was and such a terrific father. Jamie had a smile on his face everytime we crossed paths. Please accept our deepest condolences and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for your loss. Please know that Jamie was a bright light, genuine and caring, with a big laugh and bigger heart. I remember fondly and I am grateful for having the opportunity to work with Jamie. May you find joy from your memories, and may the love and support of your family and friends bring you comfort and peace. Sincerely Jan
Ron and I feel honoured to have known Jamie, he was a wonderful, kind, caring, easy going man who always seemed very happy. The 4 of you were the perfect family, sharing so many interests including the wonderful holidays and all the things you did together to create happy memories. Those memories will live on in your hearts forever. Jamie could always see the funny side of any situation and I can still hear his laughter whenever I think of him. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by so many people.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the Moorhouse and Groot families over your loss.
