“ONE OF THE BENEFITS OF FRIENDSHIP IS KNOWING TO WHOM YOU MAY CONFIDE A SECRET”
A. Manzoni
I lost a dear friend. There wasn’t a day after he passed away that I didn’t think of Allan. What he said during many of our conversations or what would be his reaction to this or other situations. As most of you, who were lucky enough to know him, know, Allan was a man of few words. I was always fascinated, no matter what he was doing: his approach to solving the problem guaranteed the successful outcome. Allan was very warm and caring man towards his family and friends. He had a great sense of humour. I know I will never met anybody like him. He was one of a kind. Allan when we will meet again I will have a few stories to tell you and I will be looking for your opinion again.

It was a pleasure and a privilege to have worked with Al on a number of projects and to have got to know him as a friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Pauline and his family.

It was an honour to have known & worked with Al. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
My deepest condolences to Al’s family.
I will remember Al for his quiet, kind, gentle spirit yet his presence had a huge impact on those around him. I worked with Al at Bantrel. He would always have that smile for me which made me smile and our little chats would put a bit of sunshine in my day. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you remember and treasure the amazing moments you had with him. May God give you peace, comfort, strength and be surrounded by family, loved ones and friends.
A true gent and a great pal and colleague.
We were all richer for knowing him.
My sincere condolences to the family.
There are a load of Al Purves stories and they are all good. He was always a great guy to be around and work with.
There’s was only one Al Purves and to have known him was an honour.
He will be remembered.
To Allan’s family, friends and co-workers, please accept my deepest condolences. I’ll always keep a good memory of Al having worked with him in the past. May you be in peace with your loss and remember the lovely moments shared with him. I’m sure there are many.
Sincerely,
Sylvie
