Obituary of PURVES – Allan James

December 9, 1944 – January 19, 2011 Al Purves, beloved husband of Pauline Purves of Cochrane, passed away with his family by his side, on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the age of 66 years. Al was born in Dunfermline, Scotland. He moved to England in his late teens, to then meet and marry the love of his life Pauline, on December 10, 1966. They moved to Canada, to later return to the U.K. for eleven years. With Canada in his heart, and a love for farming, he and his family headed back to Canada to settle in Saskatchewan for almost ten years. But, with Al’s itchy feet, it was time to move again. This time it was off to Calgary and back to Engineering with SNC Lavalin, Bantrel and IMV Projects. Al will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Pauline; his mother, Jean Purves; his daughter, Wendy (Travis) Bullock, granddaughter, Shealyn; his son, David (Pam) Purves, grandchildren Brittany, Kevin, Trinity and Austin; his brother, Ron (Val) Purves and numerous friends and colleagues. Al was predeceased by his father James Purves.
