Condolences
To the Yamamoto family:
Our deepest condolences to your family. We will always remember both your mom, Asaye, as well as your Dad Mitch as friendly, kind, loving people. They will both have a special place in our hearts in the memories we have of them.
Sincerely,
Sam Family, Magrath
Our sympathy for your loss goes to your husband and to you and your family Lyn.
Sincerely,
Anne and Ken Hamman
The Yamamoto Family,
So sorry to hear about the loss of your mother, Asaye. I was always amazed at how this tiny person could have so many kids! Whenever I saw Yama-sun she always had a big smile and a laugh. I know my parents always enjoyed both Mitch and her company whenever they got together, and enjoyed her company after Mitch’s passing. My thoughts & prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Julia and family – just a quick note to say our thoughts are with you all at the passing of your mom. I think of you, all of you often, and they are always good and comforting thoughts. We had a good childhood, I think for the most part. Take care-love from Shelley and Gary and family and all the Bly kids.
Kaichi, Amy, Julia & families,
Our thoughts and prayers are with your during this difficult time.
We will miss her dearly! So many memories of both your dad, Mitch and your mom, Asaye!
We were wondering what had happened to her when we didn’t hear from her.
Ken was not well this past year, so have been busy with his rehab – you forget what’s happening to other people.
Asaye will be sadly missed by all!
Dear Lynn, Kaichi & family,
Our sincerest condolences to all of your family on the loss of your mother.
Kindest regards,
Twig Roberts
Miyuki (May) and family:
I just read of the passing of your mother and want to send my sincere condolences to you. As a child when I spent my time at Magrath and at your house, your mother always made me feel welcome even though we could not speak the same language. She always had a smile on her face and baby on her hip and was just a really nice lady. I know you will miss her and, again, I offer my sincere sympathy to all of you.
The year before Micki Yamamoto passed away, she and I drove over and had a nice visit with your mom. Your mom sent us both home with homemade pickled radish, and had way more energy than someone her age should have had.
In Magrath, she was friendly with my mom, and they would sometimes chat in the yard when your mom was on her way home from work at Tanner’s. She always seemed bright and cheery, and kept watch over me the summer I worked there.
One year I remember, she cooked up a huge supper for the New Year’s eve celebration and invited our small (only 5 kids at that time)family to share with your crew. Exotic flavours for small-town kids.
When your parents moved to BC, my dad lost his fishing buddy, but your parents would check in when they passed through town.
You’ll miss your mom. Even though you’ve been independent for so long, when your last parent goes, you still somehow feel like an orphan. It’s as if a protective layer between you and whatever lies ahead has suddenly thinned. I hope you find comfort in sharing the memories of your Mom and Mitch and Jane and Lee as you gather. I still hear Jane’s robust outburst of laughter in my mind sometimes.-K.
