Condolences
Dear Inez,
I just received your letter today and was so very sorry to hear of Duke’s death. He was a wonderful friend and neighbor all those years ago when our family lived across the back lane from you. Grant and I were so happy to be able to visit with you last summer and talk with you and Duke about those happy times.
My sincere condolences on your loss and best wishes to you, Pam, Mark and families,
Love,
Sue
Dear Inez,
So sorry to hear of your loss. Just got the note from Sue. I’m really happy that we were able to have such a pleasant visit with you in Tecumseh last summer. Many great memories of you and our parents enjoying life together.
My sympathy to Pam and Mark as well.
Duke was a great guy.
Grant
Dear Inez and Family;
It was with great sadness that Mom and I only recently heard of Duke’s passing. We know he will be greatly missed by you and so many others. We will always remember his broad smile and cheerful nature, and all the good times we had with you on Tecumseh Road. On receiving your Christmas card, we had hoped to visit with you in your new home.
Our most sincere sympathies and thoughts are with you all in this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Agnes and Sharon Stewart

To Inez and family,
I first met Duke in April 1950 at the City of Calgary Engineering Dept.. Years later Duke sold me a Life Insurance Policy, and kept in touch through the years with Financial /Insurance advice. It was wonderful to join in on his 80th birthday party. We reminisced through some very happy times. He was a great guy and he will be missed.
Sincerely, Ernie (Oz)
Inez… It is with great sadness and sympathy that I read Duke’s obit this AM. I have tremendous memories of that classy gentleman. I don’t think I ever observed him to lose his temper or to have harsh words…even towards “head office” type people. It’s too bad we lose touch with people we spent so many years working with. Duke will be fondly remembered by A LOT of people.
I know there will be a big hole in your life. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your loss.
Leon
My deepest sympathies on the loss of Duke. He will be long remembered by me for his possibly life-saving help when my SLE was so terrible a year ago. I think of him each time I need “hardtack”. All blessings be upon you at this time.
Sad to lose a veteran of our great life insurance industry. Duke was an inspiration to me in my early years with Sun Life. Duke was on our minds three days ago when Marci and I were chatting about the good old Sun Life days…friends, conferences, parties. Our warmest wishes to the family. We share in your loss.

Dear Inez and family,
Glenna and I are very saddened by Duke’s passing. I have known him since 1965 when I tried to start a career in life insurance and received a lot of encouragement from Duke and the gang including Joe, Cliff, Barney, Bill, Milt and others. Duke also looked after my business affairs and suggested I meet Tony Davies, for which I am also very greatful. He was a classy, upright guy, always pleasant and helpful. What a loss to the family, industry and friends – we shall never forget him. Our thoughts are with you, Pam, Mark and families and we wish you strength to cope with this. Sincerely,
Peter Vanderlinden.
My deepest sympathies on the loss of Duke, I knew him thru Hub Financial. Duke was a great Gentleman and a great man to work with. May his soul rest in peace and my thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.
Dear Inez and family :

My thoughts and Prayers are with you .
