Obituary of BLACK – Evelyn Marie

September 29, 1919 – December 26, 2010 Evelyn Marie Black, beloved wife of the late Robert Graham Black passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the age of 91 years. Born in Vulcan, Alberta on September 29, 1919, Evelyn graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. After a brief career as an accountant, she married Robert in 1948. Evelyn was devoted to her immediate and extended family, and always cared deeply for those around her. Their front door was always open, and their home a haven for all. Evelyn is survived by her son Jay (Catherine), daughters Betsy (Doug Hickey), Wilma (Shane Heath), grandchildren David (Stephanie Shaw), Stéphanie, Evelyn, Emily, Jay and great-grandchild Liam. Evelyn is also survived by her brother Bill Peterson (Lila) and numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Robert on August 23, 2010. Betsy, Wilma and Jay would like to thank Herra Castanares for her loving care and support of both Evelyn and Robert.
