Condolences
It is with regret and sorrow to hear of the passing of Doris. There were some great days that our mother [ Sophie Filipchuk ] and Doris had on their distant travels together. Our sincere condolences.
Steve & Carmel Filipchuk.
Dear Harry and family, our thoughts and prayers will be with all of you on Tuesday. Your Mom was a nice lady and gave us many good memories. Friends, Madeleine and Jim Ingram
MY FIRST MEMORY OF DORIS IS OF HER RUNNING DOWN THE STEPS OF HER HOUSE AT 6 AM ON A COLD WINTER MORNING WITH THE THERMOS OF HOT CHOCOLATE SHE HAD MADE FOR BOBIE AS HE HAD LEFT IT ON THE COUNTER. BOB, KAREN, MIKE AND I WERE GOING SKIING AND BOBIE WAS AT THE TIME ABOUT 20 YEARS OLD.
THAT WAS DORIS AND I REMEMBER THINKING WHAT A GREAT MOM!!! HOW LUCKY WAS “BOBIE” TO HAVE A MOTHER LIKE HER!!!
AS IT TURNED OUT I CAME TO KNOW DORIS AND HER FAMILY VERY WELL AS MY SISTER KAREN MARRIED BOBIE. MY ADMIRATION AND RESPECT FOR THIS LOVELY LADY DEEPENED AND GREW SINCE THAT FIRST MORNING. IT WAS MY PRIVILEDGE AND PLEASURE TO HAVE HAD DORIS AS PART OF OUR EXTENDED FAMILY AND TO HAVE BEEN PART OF HERS.
I ALONG WITH EVERYONE ELSE WILL MISS HER DISTINCTIVE LAUGH, THINK OF HER WHEN THE FLAMES ARE EITHER BUMS OR HEROS AND CONTINUE TO BE INSPIRED BY HER LIFE STORY WHEN FACING ADVERSITY.
TO THE DAWSON FAMILY. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL.
