Obituary of DAWSON – Doris Evelyn

1919 – 2010 With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Doris Dawson (nee Williams), on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the age of 91 years. Doris enjoyed a glass of wine at family gatherings and never missed a chance to socialize. She was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 40 years and loved to travel and gamble — Las Vegas being one of her favourite destinations. Doris was also an avid fan of the Calgary Flames and Calgary Stampeders and loved to either cheer for the teams (or curse them!). Doris was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Cyril Dawson, on December 1, 1958; and her brother Eric Williams on August 26, 1980. She is survived by four sons, Harry (Norma) of Two Hills, AB, Brian (Cindy), Bob (Karen), and Stephen (Sandra), all of Calgary; and one daughter, Judy Kenny (Wayne) of St. Paul, AB; as well as ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Edna Bombardieri and Betty Green, both of Calgary; and two brothers, Bob Williams (Dot) of Red Deer, AB, and Neville Williams (Gerry) of Saskatoon, SK. Doris cherished her many grandchildren and they all thought the world of their grandmother. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her many family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
