Obituary of GUERRA – Aldo

October 10, 1920 – December 3, 2010 Aldo Guerra of Calgary passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010 at the age of 90 years. Aldo was born in Urbania, Pesaro Italy on October 10, 1920. He immigrated to Canada in 1949 and then returned to Italy and married Elisa Baggiarini on April 14, 1956 at which point they both returned to Canada to start their family. Aldo loved the outdoors especially when it came to hunting and gardening where he devoted much of his time during retirement. He was a passionate wine maker, buying grapes every September to start a new batch. Aldo was a dedicated family man and took great pride in raising and providing for his family. Aldo and Elisa truly enjoyed spending time with their family and Sunday dinners were a weekly must. Aldo and Elisa felt especially blessed to have had two grandchildren, Stephanie and Paul who brought much love, laughter and joy to their lives. Nonno we will miss you but you will always be in our hearts. Aldo is survived by two sons and a daughter, Norbert Guerra, Anna Marie (Renato) Colucci and their children Stephanie and Paul, and Walter Guerra (Rosina Tobin and her children, Lindsay, Nicole and Kevin). He was predeceased by his wife of forty-five years, Elisa on April 10, 2002. Special thanks to the staff at the Edgemont Retirement Centre especially Gabrielle & “Nino” for their friendship towards Aldo, and staff at RGH Unit 93 for their care in his final days.
