My sincere condolences to the entire Pitt family. You were all my second family in my early teens. Your Dad and Shirley introduced me to Chestermere Lake, the cabin and skidooing, we had great fun. I always remember your Dad as such a big man and someone we all respected. My thoughts are with you all.

You probably don’t know who I am so I’ll tell you that I am Louis Ennis { Mutt } brother-in-law. I met Red for the first time when Louis came down to Calgary and we met Red to have a few beer down town. He was working down I think on 7th Ave. just off of Centre St. It was interesting having a fewwww

beer with those two and just listening to the many stories of their teenage and young years in Blairmore and their time in the Navy. Red had supper with Hazel and I on a couple of occasions of course after a few beers at our local Legion.

The last time Mutt and I saw him was in the hospital and were sorry to see him like that.

`My First Christmas

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below.

With tiny lights like heaven’s stars reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away that tear.

For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear

But the sounds of music can’t compare

With the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you the joy their voices bring

For it’s beyond description to hear the angles sing.

I know how much you miss me; I see the pain in your heart

But I am not so far away, we really are not apart.

So be happy for me dear ones, you know I hold you dear

And be glad I’m spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I send you each a special gift from my heavenly home above

I send you each a memory of my undying love.

After all, love is the gift more precious then gold

It was always more important in the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other as my Father said to do

For I can’t count the blessings or the love he has for you.

To the Pitt Family’

Although you would not have met or known me, I was just browsing through the Herald today and noticed with great sadness the passing of Mr. Pitt. I truly have some fond memories of “Red” when I recall the privilgege of joining him, (the late) Joe Yozzie and Jim lotwin from the Elks Club on a golf trip to Amelia Island Plantation back in the 80’s. It was a was an outing I still recall with sincere memories and pictures of the four of us. It is with great respect and fond memories that I will always carry with me when I think of Red. What an honour and privilege for me to have had the opportunity to both know Red and have spent some quality time with him.

Katie -we’re both so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing, however, he has fought hard and had a great life. I’m not sure what he would have done without such a dedicated daughter. You have strived to make his last couple of years as much fun as you possibly could. You are such a tower of strength and always willing to give 110% – I know your dad really appreciated all that you did for him.
