Dear Aileen and family,
Thank you for your phone message of today, Aileen. To all of you, I would like to express my deepest sympathy on the passing of dear Steve. I will be thinking of you all, especially during the Prayers and Tributes this evening and during the Funeral Mass tomorrow. All my memories of Steve are happy ones: our numerous visits to your home in Toronto in the 1970s and 1980s; your family visit to Ottawa when your Andrew graduated from Carleton U., in 1997, I believe; and Kari’s and Edward’s wedding in Calgary in Sept. 2000. God bless you all.
With love and deepest sympathy,
Ian XXX

Dear Aunt Aileen and family – I wanted to let you all know how very sorry I am to hear of Uncle Steve’s passing. He was always a very special person to me – one that had always embraced me into the bosom of his family and made me feel such a part of those he loved. I was part of so many family celebrations with you in your home in Toronto and Calgary and got to see your children grow into wonderful adults and then into marriage with terrific partners and families of their own. Your entire family always had your doors wide open with love and kindness and those are truly the qualities you remember and respect in a person both living and when they are gone – and those qualities Uncle Steve, Aunt Aileen and family always showed in spades. I am so very thankful I got to make the trip from Australia to have a few special moments together with Uncle Steve before his passing and to see the unconditional support and love he received constantly from his family. He will be sadly missed but very fondly remembered by all that knew him! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time and my arms are around each of you! While I will not be able to be at the funeral in person, I will certainly be there in spirit. God bless all of you – you have sent another angel to Heaven!
With much love always….Scott
Dearest Aileen and Family: We send you all our love and prayers — I can’t imagine what you have all gone through — especially what poor Steve had endured in the past little while. We are always told that our loved ones are in a better place — but there is still “No place like home!” We have very fond memories of Steve and Aileen, but Claire remembers the days of playing cards at TCPL and then the golfing times. I remember all of us travelling (the 8 of us) to BC and what
a time we had with many laughs — but I will always remember his beautifull smile and his witt — he always had something funny to say.
Again, our condolences to all of you, and may you all find peace in knowing that your Dad and Best Friend is also at peace.
Love to you all, Claire and Lynda
