Pat was my first mentor/instructor when I attended Mount Royal College in the 80’s. I always wondered how and where he was. I am very sad to know that he has passed on. He will be missed.

As I offer condolences to Pat’s family and friends, I can not help in feeling the sadness at the news of Pat’s sudden passing. Having worked and played many rounds of golf with Pat, I was always so aware of his enjoyment of coming to the course to either play or work as a starter. In my humble opinion, he had a heart of a lion that came through as he worked at over coming adversity.

Dear Doug and Pat,

We celebrate the life and good memories of your Dad with you and share your sorrow and loss with his passing. He was brilliant in many ways and had a twisted – in a good way – sense of humour. We are with you in thought and spirit and share our love with you and your families. We are sorry that we are not able to be there in person at this time.

It was a great shock to us that Pat passed away so suddenly. I have been out of town, and thus was unable to attend the memorial services.

Pat was a great colleague and good friend to us, and we have many fond memories of him and his family.

Pat was a kind and gentle man and we will miss seeing him next spring on Monday evening’s ladies league at Douglasdale.

Gerda and I pass along our condolences to the entire family. It is with great fondness that I remember the many years Pat and I were the best of friends and as colleagues at the college. I certainly missed our close friendship when Gerda and I moved to Kamloops. To the whole family please accept our sympathy.
